Water storage tank expected to save money

The township built a water tank 750,000 gallons of storage is expected to help save money on water bills by purchasing water for off-peak times and store it in the tank.
The reservoir was built on an acre near the Clinton River spillway off Union Lake Road and Metro Parkway. Clinton River Spillway Inter-County Drain Board owns the land. He gave permission to use Township property, according to the Office of County Public Works.
Township Supervisor Kenneth Verkest said the township has to pay for $ 1.Water tank of $ 3 million over five years through savings on water rates, according to a news release. The township is expected to save $ 250 000 - $ 300,000 a year, he said.
