I do not blame the cast for the receipt of debauchery. It seems that they will all be fine and that the selective editing allows us to see their worst, not their best. Their best are not usually the final cut. The problem is their worst and it falls on us, guests skeptics, who have to live here when they left.
And now we have to live with the fact that "Jersey Shore" has a double meaning, and I'm not referencing the town in Pennsylvania.I personally wish the show was called "Seaside Heights", but that name would not have given the show's broader appeal, a call that has become global. Maybe we should take comfort that perhaps there is a person say, Bahrain, whose idea of freedom and democracy is printed in a New Jersey flag on his wall with J Woww, Sweetheart and Snooki in bikinis in the foreground. Yes, Jersey Shore to symbolize different things to others than it does to us. After being launched by Carlin for growing stacks, it just feels like a punch in another direction.
