Halfway around the world, Charlie Wittmack is itself, by laborious drifts knee and halfway in a bid to be one of the first men in 2011 on top of Mount Everest. The 34-year-old lawyer from Des Moines, Iowa, has put himself and his family through hell to get here.His rise during the first week of May is the culmination of a lifelong dream: a 11-month, 10,000-mile, 13 countries of swimming / biking / climbing adventure Charlie called the Triathlon World . Each step towards the culmination of the Earth is one step closer to the finish line. A few days earlier, Charlie had asked Cate what life will look like when he goes home. She did not give him an answer. For now, she nervously following the progress with her husband for a GPS unit that door.
