The Pain I Didn't Expect

I do not remember this kind of gut wrenching pain with my first pregnancy. I had no idea what it was or was common until I mentioned on Facebook. But my friends knew.

It was round ligament pain.

Round ligaments surround your uterus during pregnancy and these ligaments stretch and thicken as a support mechanism for your uterus growing. This process apparently can cause pain. As with most discomfort related to pregnancy, the rest is supposedly the best method to relieve pain. If possible, lying on its side and put your knees to your chest is supposed to help as well.Not so sure how easy that is to do in seven months pregnant, but I'm willing to give it a try.

For the most part, it used to be that women got married, then got pregnant.

Brides with bellies are no longer taboo. At least the internets tell me so.  I had no problem finding an array of shops, blogs and resources completely dedicated to the pregnant bride.

Although I’m not entirely too sure that the stigma is definitely gone. I think it depends on your societal and cultural demographic; your socioeconomic class and age. Where you live, your family, and your friends.

Weddings don’t have to be like our parents weddings. Nor have all of us experienced a childhood life of, ‘traditional normalcy’ to mimic. We are marrying older. We’re living together and doing things all at once.
